Achaban House offers bed and breakfast on Mull and is near to the Iona ferry. Iona has few bed and breakfast facilities and, and staying on Mull is often cheaper and more practical. We think our bed and breakfast is the most comfortable to be found on Mull or Iona.

Achaban House was built in the middle of the last century as a manse and is situated on the western tip of the Ross of Mull within easy walking distance of the Iona Ferry.

It overlooks Loch Pottie, a pretty freshwater loch to the south.

Torr Mor

All rooms have coffee and tea making facilities and a TV is available on request.

A two course evening meal with tea and coffee afterwards by the fireside is available by request.

Smoking is not allowed in the house.

Tariff

Payment may be made with credit card, (visa, delta, or mastercard), cheque or cash and a £20 deposit is requested on booking.

The accommodation comprises: 1 family, 2 doubles, 2 twins and 1 single room.
Ground Floor:
The cozy sitting room with its welcoming open fire in the evenings, family antiques and book collection. The dining room with its period furniture reflects the atmosphere of the large family that enjoyed the house over many generations. The family room (1 double and 2 single beds) with large en suite shower room, is suitable for wheel chair access.
First Floor Landing
First Floor:
The wide landing leads to Iona, a large twin room with south facing views and a private bathroom. Pottie, a double south facing room with en suite shower room. Kintra, a double room with en suite shower, Torr Mor a twin room with en suite shower room and Creich a generously proportioned en suite single room.

Standing StoneA three metre high standing stone, between 4-5,000 years old and aligned to the north star, stands in the garden close to the house.

It is therefore safe to assume that the site had a spiritual significance. Guests often remark on the light and peaceful feeling of the house.

Over the years Achaban has retained its original style and comfortable family atmosphere.
